How to design the KEYTOP?
Are there any KEYTOP design samples?
he surface of the KEYTOP that fingers touch can use a favorite design and shapes by the customer. However the design of backside of the KEYTOP have to use our design.
Are there any KEYTOP design samples?
We have the KEYTOP design with more than 50 kinds of samples.You can select the favorite one from samples, and we make the best shape of the KEYTOP that based on your selection.
Does KEYTOP shape have an influence on a feeling of the VectorPad control?
Yes, Appearance of the KEYTOP has an influence on a tactile feeling of the VectorPad control. However it can be trimmed by Software.
How big range of diameter size can be used for the KEYTOP ?
In case of having the center click button, Φ6 mm is minimum diameter. Typical maximum diameter is Φ14 mm, we also experienced to use Φ30 mm. Please feel free to ask us this diameter.
Is there the limit of materials of the KEYTOP?
There is not the limit in particular. Even aluminum and plating are all right. We recommend that our design used in the backside of the KEYTOP that touch to VectorPad.
A metallic sound does it from the KEYTOP of APPS-controller for demonstrations, but is this trouble?
The metallic sound to be emitted from the KEYTOP of the controller is a sound to be emitted from the spring of SUS material. The structure of APPS-controller for demonstrations becomes the structure stopping KEYTOP to an upper case with a board spring of SUS. Therefore, a metallic sound of SUS occurs when we operate KEYTOP. It is the method that it adopted to easily make APPS-controller for demonstrations by low cost. Because it supports KEYTOP with silicon rubber or resin when we incorporate it in the actual product of the customers, there cannot be the thing uttering a sound.
PCB (Print Circuit Board)
Is it possible to supply as a VectorPad module?
It is possible to provide PCB module that assembled with VectorPad and IC. If we put together with a tiny Micro-controller, it is able to get USB,PS/2 and SPI interface.
Is the position of four direction switches fixed when we composite with 5 way switch ?
We will arrange metal Dome switches in the immediate outside of the sensor. We design the concrete placement depending on the demand of the customers. In addition, We can have eight direction switches too.
How about the specifications such as the key load characteristic of the switch and peak load, the click rate?
This depends on the characteristic of the metal Dome switch. We arrange metal Dome switch of more than 1,000,000 times of durability basically. We also can do placement of metal Dome switch of the characteristic of the demand of the customer.
How about the soldering method of VectorPad to the PCB
It supports re-flow process.
Is it possible to place at multi-layer-PCB?
It is no problem.
Is there any reference circuit to install VectorPad?
We have reference circuit.
Do you have design guidance of the PCB pattern layout between VectorPad and IC?
We have reference layout of PCB pattern.
Sensor
What is a detection object of VectorPad?
VectorPad is a force sensor of the capacitance type. It output which position we pushed with how much strength for vector quantity. Because software handles the movement of the vector quantity, We can get movement / speed / acceleration of X-Y of the finger.
What kind of shape of VectorPad do you have?
We have several standard shapes, however besides we customize it by a customer about other specifications such as an external form and thickness, the size.
How big partial compressive strength is it?
It is 10N maximum when made perpendicular pressure with 2mm diameter of a stick to push it.
How is power consumption of VectorPad?
Because VectorPad is a capacitance type sensor, there is not most of the consumption electricity.
How is durability of VectorPad?
There is not the influence in the output value even if 1,000,000 times of tapping of one point of VectorPad with 2mm diameter of a stick to push it.
Is there the influence to give in a characteristic by the temperature change?
The operation guarantee temperature of VectorPad is -20 degrees Celsius - 65 degrees Celsius. The preservation temperature is -55 degrees Celsius - 125 degrees Celsius. Because we adopt zero original stabilization system, there cannot be the thing that the output value drifts even if temperature deviated sharply.

What is operational principle?
In the inside of the IC, it samples the analog output from a sensor by 3ms polling. C to V converts the analog input from a sensor and converts it into voltage reading. it output with an I2C format after having converted the voltage reading with a 10 bit AD converter .
Can you set sensitivity of the detection?
Sensitivity setting of 1.0 time, 1.5 times, 2.5 times, 3.5 times is possible. by software trimming, we can perform feeling adjustment such as the sensitivity more finely.
Do you customize the IC?
We do not cope with the customization of the IC basically. However, by the amount of the mass production, we customize the miniaturization. Please talk to us.

The influence on magnetic force? （Influence on detection accuracy when we posted a speaker on the device back）
If it is magnetic force of that level, it is not have any problem. We examined a powerful magnet close and confirmed it, but the normal output is provided.
Are there the reference materials to be shown how to install VectorPad to the customer mechanism?
There are a two-dimensional drawing and a three-dimensional drawing. We also prepare for the drawing of each simple substance of an IC and the VectorPad.
